ABOUT THE WEST INDIAN FOUNDATION:
The West Indian Foundation, Inc. was founded by the West Indian
Social Club of Hartford, Inc. to serve as the central focus of West
Indian cultural, social and educational activities in the Metro Hartford
community. West Indians include peoples native to the Independent
Nations of the Caribbean islands of the Republic of Trinidad and
Tobago, Barbados, St. Christopher, St. Vincent, the Republic of Guyana,
The Bahamas, Barbuda, Dominica, Antigua, Belize, Suriname, St. Lucia,
Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis as well as Jamaica.
Community Outreach & Development:
The goal of the Foundation is to foster and strengthen a sense of unity
among social, fraternal, business groups and associations, collaborates
with area health, education, and cultural organizations to provide community
outreach programs, and also serves as a communal resource to
improve the socio-economic status for the community.
Supporting the Lifeline of Vital Services:
The West Indian Foundation is committed to funding programs that
make a difference in the lives of thousands of West Indian Americans
each year.
Our vital support comes from private donors, program activities, corporations,
foundations, and organizations, public, private and individuals
tax-deductible gifts enables the Foundation to sustain its lifeline of program
services to the community.
Gifts to the Foundation may include cash donations, bequests, life
insurance, appreciated securities, and charitable remainder trusts
through the WEST INDIAN FOUNDATION ENDOWMENT FUND and
CONNECTICUT LEAVE A LEGACY PROGRAMS; (Consult your Attorney
and or your Accountant for advice.
The Foundation offers a variety of designated giving opportunities, in
honor or memory of loved ones, annual gifts, also the UNITED WAY
