President, Joy Chance-Blake
A Message from the President
Greetings and Welcome on behalf of the West
Indian Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors.
As you know, the Greater Hartford West Indian
Community is the third largest Caribbean community in the United States.
Our community is committed to providing the best education for our
children and fostering a joy in learning. We are very proud of our
achievements over the years, but we also recognize that we still have a
long way to go. One thing we are sure of is that we cannot succeed
without your help. We are also very aware of this recession and
the need for organizations like ours to collaborate with other
organizations in order to achieve our mission of
“Educating Today for a Better Tomorrow”.
To the Community, thank you for your support
throughout the years by working closely with us to accomplish our goals.
To our Sponsors, Advertisers, and Volunteers,
you have come through time and time again and for this we are most
grateful.
To the Children and Young People, continue to
dream, aspire, respect yourself and each other, educate yourself and
fulfill the promise and keep the culture alive.
In the words of Marcus Mosiah Garvey, “The
ends you serve that are selfish will take you no further than yourself
but the ends you serve that are for all, in common, will take you into
eternity."
God Bless,
Joy Chance-Blake, President
